How to change the speed of the DC motor

2024-03-28

The direction of rotation of the DC motor is related to the direction of the current in the coil and the direction in which the coil cuts the magnetic induction line. The direction of the current in the coil can change the direction of the coil cutting the magnetic induction line to change the direction of rotation of the motor; the direction of the coil cutting the magnetic induction line remains unchanged, and the direction of the current in the coil is changed to change the direction of rotation of the motor. The speed of rotation of the motor can be varied by varying the magnitude of the current through the coil.

According to the left-hand definition, when either the direction of the armature current or the direction of the magnetic field (I. e., the direction of the excitation current) is reversed. The force direction of the armature conductor is changed, and the rotation direction of the motor is changed accordingly. However, if the direction of both the armature current and the magnetic field changes simultaneously, the direction of rotation of the motor does not change.
